Neutrogena vs Garnier

I have no idea what is going on with my face at the moment. I think I am having problems with blackheads? I have these tiny, very tiny pimples around my nose, mouth, chin and even under my bloody eyes! They probably aren't even black heads! I don't know what they are but I need them to go!

So I thought that I would try some new facial cleansers. I brought the Garnier Pure Active Intensive Exfobrusher Spot Fighter and I also brought the Neutrogena Visibly Clear Blackhead Eliminating SOS Cleanser.

I brought these two products because I wasn't quite sure what was wrong with my skin. I don't know if I have black heads hence why I brought the Neutrogena one and they could just be very tiny spots hence why I brought the Garnier one. Plus the Garnier one had the cool brush on top so it made me feel like I was going to be using a Magintone! But obviously this one isn't battery operated, it's all manual unfortunately.

I'll start off with the Garnier Pure Active Intensive Exfobrusher Spot Fighter. It retails for £5.25 at Superdrug. I was so excited to use this because of the exfobrusher on top. I thought that it would help scrub away all the dirt on my face.

It is meant to be "Anti Shine, Anti Spots and Anti marks with results from day one" ... hmmm.

To be honest it is just an ordinary face wash with a rubber brush on top. I wasn't impressed at all. It is so hard to use and it is very messy. The exfobrusher isn't that great, it's so flimsy. I thought that the brush would have been a bit more firm. It is very awkward to use because it is to big for my hands. I have no idea how to hold it to make sure that it is getting at all the right places on my face.

The technique that you have to do to use it is quite annoying and causes such a mess! You have to wet the exfobrusher first and then twist the head to make the face wash come out.

Now, when you twist the head you have to tilt it to make the face wash come out onto the brush and it just comes gushing out because it is so runny. You have to tilt it quite a few times to make it go in all directions on the brush, by the third tilt it's all over your hands. Then you have to twist the head back to stop the face wash coming out and then you can use it.

Seriously? That is so stressful, all I want it to do is clean my face and clean it properly.

The one thing that I always do after I've washed my face is use a cotton pad and some cleansing water to double check that my face is actually clean. I did this after I used the Garnier Pure Active Intensive Exfobrusher Spot Fighter and my face was still a little dirty.

I was so annoyed! I spent about 5 minutes trying to put it together and then I use it only to find my face isn't squeaky clean. Not happy!

I have used it a few times and I have got the knack of using it - just about! It is still way to big for my hands and the brush is still too flimsy but I have to use it to finish it up. I won't be buying it again. It didn't do what I wanted it to do. I am a massive fan of exfoliating, I use exfoliating gloves in the shower all the time and I don't stop scrubbing until the water runs clear. Probably not good for my skin but atleast I am clean. So when I did my cotton pad test after using the face wash, you can imagine my disappointment when my face wasn't clean and it is meant to be an exfoliating product.

I still love Garnier, I just don't love this product. I love using their Cleansing Micellar Water.

On the other hand I love the Neutrogena Visibly Clear Blackhead Eliminating SOS Cleanser! It is a two in one so I can use it as a mask and I can use it as an exfoliating cleanser. It is meant to help unclog pores and the exfoliating bits in the cleanser help to loosen existing blackheads, and when used as a mask it helps purify deep down into the skin.

I love this product it's easy to use and not messy at all.  I love using it as a face mask too when I've had a long day and my face feels horrid. When you wash off the mask you can still feel the little exfoliating bits working away on your face so you are still exfoliting as you wash the product off.

My face feels so soft and it doesn't feel dried out at all when my face has air dried. The Neutrogena Visibly Clear Blackhead Eliminating SOS Cleanser retails for £3.99 at Superdrug. £3.99! Where as I spent almost £6 on a standard face wash with a rubber brush on the end! *cries*

The Neutrogena cleaner is 100% my new favourite and I am very happy to welcome it into my skin care routine! Also when I did my cotton pad test using my cleansing water, I had a clear cotton pad! YES!

Hope you enjoyed my post. What are your favourite facial cleansers?
